And, just past Keystone stables; masters of the magical sleigh and wagon rides is the location of Old Keystone. In days gone by this area was a sawmill. The current stables building was the rail depot of Old Keystone. Silver ore was loaded onto wagons at today's Ski Tip Lodge and transferred to ore freight cars near today's stables and then transported to Denver markets. Past the stables the rustic buildings lining the road are now the home of the Keystone Science School, purveyors of science camps for schools and interpretive science tours for guests of the resort.

Keystone Ranch Restaurant reigns here. It was originally built as a cattle ranch and lettuce farm and remained a working ranch until 1977 producing veal, lettuce and dairy products for locals. The current great room where desserts and after dinner-liqueurs are savored was the original ranch house. The national reputation of Keystone Ranch includes the AAA Four Diamond AwardTM for every year since 1990, the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for every year since 1996, and it repeatedly receives high scores as a top Colorado restaurant by Zagat Survey. Dinner at the Keystone Ranch is a six course celebration.
